The meetings are devoted entirely to discussion of the papers.
Except for a “Presidential Address” at an evening banquet,
there are no formal presentations.
AMINTAPHIL membership is open to any person interested in philosophy
of law, political philosophy, political theory, or social philosophy.
The most common disciplines of the members are law, philosophy,
and political science. Membership requires approval by the Executive
Director and payment of dues of $30 per year.
AMINTAPHIL is associated with the International Association for
Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (Internationale Vereinigung
für Rechts— und Sozialphilosophie), also known as the
IVR. The IVR has sections in fourty countries and holds a World
Congress every two years. The most recent (2007) was in Kracow, Poland on the topic of Law and Legal Cultures in the 21st Century: Diversity and Unity. Our annual dues include membership in IVR.
